In the upcoming Weekly Shounen Jump issue #29, with the release of One Piece chapter 1086, it is announced, that the One Piece manga will go on a month-long hiatus, due to mangaka Eiichiro Oda’s eye surgery and will resume on 18th July, with Jump issue #33.

Before the official statement, the news was leaked hours ago and as fans were hyped with the current ongoing egghead arc, the news came as a shock, as Eiichiro Oda, the author in the 26 years of One Piece serialization, has hardly taken long breaks like this and fans were speculating that the reason behind the break might be due to his health condition or because of the upcoming One Piece Netflix live-action announcement tours, was waiting for the official statement.
The Egghead Arc, also referred to as the Future Island Arc, is the thirty-second story arc of the manga and anime One Piece, the first story arc of the Final Saga, and the ninth story arc of the second half of the series.
The aftermaths of both the Levely and the Raid on Onigashima have had immense consequences for the world. One Piece is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump since July 1997, with its individual chapters compiled into 105 tankōbon volumes as of March 2023. The story follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy and his crew, the Straw Hat Pirates, where he explores the Grand Line in search of the mythical treasure known as the “One Piece” in order to become the next King of the Pirates.
