One of the most awaited anime films of this year, One Piece Film: Red, Indian theatrical release date of the film is October 7, 2022, will be distributed by PVR and ODEX and break box office records.
The film has already grossed over 8.5 billion yen (about US$63 million or ₹500 crore) at the Japanese box office and has sold over 6 million tickets, with a worldwide box office of more than ₹550 crore in just 14 days, shattering many box office records in every region it has been released and now it is ready to break Indian box office records.
Last week, PVR Cinemas confirmed the release on their social media handle with an official poster and a One Piece Film Red billboard on one of their screens.
This is exciting news for One Piece fans in India since they already missed a release on the One Piece Stampede release in 2019, even after many petitions and the release of Broly and Weathering with you the same year.
I hope it is a Pan-India release with regional language dubs, okay am just kidding.
Now let’s start planning for the film and celebrate it with Indian anime fans.
ONE PIECE FILM RED was released in Japanese theatres on August 6, 2022. ONE PIECE FILM RED is described as:
Uta — the most beloved singer in the world. Her voice, which she sings while concealing her true identity, has been described as “otherworldly.” She will appear in public for the first time at a live concert. As the venue fills with all kinds of Uta fans — excited pirates, the Navy watching closely, and the Straw Hats led by Luffy who simply came to enjoy her sonorous performance — the voice that the whole world has been waiting for is about to resound. The story begins with the shocking fact that she is “Shanks’ daughter.” Uta stands on the stage, with the ordinary wish of “Making the world happy with my music.” There’s Gordon, a mysterious character who knows Uta’s past, and glimpses of Shanks’ shadow. On Elegia, the island of music, Luffy and Uta reunite for the first time since they last met 12 years ago in Foosha Village.
